in this first 4 months of the new campaignthe Italian oil industry has purchased from Spain almost 90 thousand tons of olive oil, paid in total over 536 million euros. The average price per ton was 5.412 euros, 30,5% less than spent in the previous campaign.
Italy is firmly the leading buyer of Spanish oil, this year in 48% volume growth, due on the one hand to the low Italian production and on the other to Spain's return to record production levels (over 1,4 million tons) and above all to a price which, for extra virgin oil alone, is practically half of the Italian one.
The data was released by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, which highlighted how olive oil exports worldwide increased by 15% between October and January, greasing the 273.173 tons, while in value they decreased by 3,2%, settling at 1,717 billion euros.
United States, France and Portugal they are the countries that follow Italy as frontiers of Spanish oil for a value that, all together, they reach that of our country.

Spanish exports increased to Asian countries and Oceania, following the drop in export volumes last season: China (+17%, to 3.564 t), South Korea (+125%, to 5.071 t) and Australia (+68%, to 5.886 t). However, volume drops were recorded to Russia (-40%, to 745 t), Brazil (-63%, to 2,29 t), the United Kingdom (-18%, to 12.439 t) and Japan (-15%, to 3.808 t).

In the first four months of the 2024/25 campaign, Spanish olive oil was exported to a total of 136 countries.
