Everything is ready to celebrate the fiftieth edition of the Review of Reggello Extra Virgin Olive Oil, one of the longest running events in Tuscany. The review, which will last for five days from the 1 5 2023 November, presents a program full of initiatives designed to raise awareness and appreciate the taste and quality of extra virgin olive oil.
“We are celebrating fifty years of the oil market exhibition in one of the places that have always offered the highest quality in terms of oil and wine, elements that are part of the DNA of Tuscany – to say it the president of the Tuscany Region Eugenio Giani during the presentation of the initiative – The Reggello extra virgin olive oil exhibition is one of the most authentic, beautiful and typical events among those dedicated to oil”.
“Our Oro Verde di Reggello celebrates half a century of Excellence, a 50-year-long thread of oil. With the protagonists of the history of the Exhibition we will retrace its history, the path made of passion, identity, taste and tradition. There are 25 producers, 6 oil mills as well as numerous small family-run olive farms operating in the area. Numerous companies are run by young people, some of whom carry on the family business with commitment and dedication" reports the mayor, Piero Giunti.
Among the scheduled events, they stand out exciting cooking shows, guided tastings, panoramic walks among the enchanting olive groves and visits to the evocative local oil mills. The review does not neglect even the little ones: they are on the calendar cooking and ceramic workshops specially designed for them. For lovers of outdoor activities, there will be an appointment with e-bike riding among the olive groves, open to adults and children.
Space to music with the concert of the talented artists of the Maggio Musicale Choir, and then there will be no shortage of them cultural meetings, themed dinners, a magic show and a market dedicated to artisanal and local products.
To celebrate this important anniversary, a meeting was organized exhibition with photos and videos that retrace the many editions of the Exhibition. A journey into the past with the testimonies of those who gave life and shape to this wonderful event.
As per consolidated tradition, the producers' stands will be available to allow visitors to personally meet those who work with passion and professionalism to create this extraordinary product, known and appreciated throughout the world.
The exhibition will be open on Wednesday 1st, Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th November from 10am to 21pm, while on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd November it will be open from 16pm to 21pm.
During the days of the Exhibition, dishes or menus dedicated to Oro Verde will be prepared in restaurants in the Reggio Calabria area. The Museums of Cascia also participate in the many initiatives of the event, with entry at a special price and a free guided tour of the Masaccio Museum of Sacred Art on Wednesday 1 November at 16.00 pm, Saturday 4 November at 10 am and 30 pm , Sunday 16 November at 00am and 5pm. The Dante Arte Foundation at the White House offers the opening and guided tour by appointment.
