Central and northern Italy are affected by olive fly pressure, requiring hasty harvesting. Southern Italy and the islands are in the thick of the harvest, with mid-ripening cultivars such as Coratina and Carolea. For those harvesting after mid-November, this is the last permitted treatment. Recommended post-harvest treatments are available to combat peacock spot, leprosy, and lead rot.
