The world of oil loses an authoritative personality. Massimo Felice Neri (in the picture) passed away today at the age of 71, more than half of whom passed at the helm of theOl.Ma. of Montepascoli (Gr), Tuscan college of olive growers, a cooperative caught on the edge of the abyss until it becomes today, with about 1200 members, a point of reference for national extra virgin olive oil. An activity carried out with great passion, strong determination and marked professionalism, alongside a no less intense participation in the associative world. President of the Grosseto Agricultural Consortium, had also been to head of the provincial Coldiretti and today member of the national board of Unaprol.
“Today is a sad day for Italian agriculture and olive growing – they write the president of Unaprol, Davide Granieri e the general manager Nicola Di Noia – Massimo Neri was a great manager of Coldiretti who made quality Italian extra virgin olive oil great in the world. His vision, his passion, his great commitment over the years have made it possible to transform a cooperative in difficulty into one of the most beautiful realities of Italian olive growing, the first IGP Tuscan certified oil production plant”.
Words shared by regional president of Coldiretti, Fabrizio Filippi (in the cover photo next to Massimo Felice Neri): “For me he was a friend and a teacher – he added -, for everyone he was a great visionary manager. We will miss him ”.
Feelings of sincere condolences were also expressed by Pieralisi, the leading company in the production of olive oil machines, partner for over 40 years of the cooperative Ol.Ma. where is present with ben 8 production lines, in a growth project that Massimo Felice Neri had followed step by step with great attention in the objective of combining quality and quantity for the benefit of his associates, consumers and, more generally, the image of Tuscan and Italian extra virgin olive oil in the world.
