THEHercules Olivarius celebrates his 30 years. The prestigious national competition reserved for producers of high quality Italian oil, born in 1993, will see the announcement and awarding of the winners, Saturday March 26 2022 a Perugia. The numbers and the news of the prize – announced byItalian Union of Chambers of Commerce, were illustrated today in Rome during a press conference. "Investing in agri-food areas, betting on the quality and appeal of the territories and its products, such as oil, is the direction in which to aim to offer small businesses a growth path and enhance the territories" highlighted the president Of Unioncamere, Andrea Prete. “The oil supply chain has more than that 400 thousand farms specialized, but also the largest number of denomination extra virgin olive oils in Europe, with a heritage of 250 million plants and 533 varieties of olives. The Chambers of Commerce are ready to do their part, because we know that it is necessary to start from the territories, also focusing on experiential tourism, made up of food and wine riches, of which oil certainly represents a leading product, to win the interest of travelers Italians and foreigners".
Roberto Luongo, Director General of the ICE Agency, he recalled that national olive oil exports in 2021 reached the record value of one and a half billion euros.
Among the innovations of the award, this year there is an important initiative that aims at innovation the digital certificate in version NFT Non-Fungible Tokens (non-reproducible certificate), which will be delivered to the winning companies of this edition.
The national Jury of the Ercole Olivario Award is made up of 16 professional tasters from all the Italian regions participating in the competition: fromAbruzzo Maria Grazia d'Angelo, From Christian Calabria Rombolà, From Campania John Spoken, From 'Emilia-Romagna Giovanni Goisis, from Lazio Erika Pozzetto, From Liguria Igino Gelone, From Lombardy Tosadori Enrico, from Brands Silvano Zannotti, from Molise Tommasino Baroncini, From Apulia Luana Leo Imperiale, From Sardinia Annalisa Motzo, From Sicily Giuseppe Iannizzotto, From Tuscany Alessandro Parenti, from Trentino Alto Adige Andrea Segantini, From 'Umbria Angela Canale and from Veneto Roberta Ruggeri. The jury headed by panel leader Alfredo Marasciulo, met today, Tuesday 15 March, for the tastings of the finalist oils, which will end Friday 18 March.
