I'm over 200 thousand tons of olive oil (to be precise 203.186) stored in tanks scattered around the peninsula. The latest report certifies this Oil mills Italy elaborated by Department of the Central Inspectorate for quality protection and fraud repression of agri-food products (Ictqrf) which highlights how theextra virgin is equal to 147.940 tons, Of which 97.121 tons 100% Italian it's about 37 thousand community. Equal to over 50 thousand tons the stocks of clear, refined and pomace.
Where the stocks are located
It's obviously there Puglia to hold the greatest quantity of inventory – equal to 77.410 tons – followed by Toscana (34.195) Umbria (21.827) and Calabria (20.427). At the provincial level behind Bari, There is Perugia, then the Bat, then the three Tuscan ones Siena, Lucca and Florence.
Compared to previous month, a drop in inventories of around 20 thousand tonnes is confirmed, in line with the previous survey. Which confirms that - considering the stability of consumption - in terms of stocks, Italy can be considered largely capable of arriving without shocks to the next olive oil campaign which, fortunately, promises to be positive throughout the continent.
Oils with Geographical and Organic Indications
Oils with geographical indication (PDO and PGI) represent the 9,4% of the extra virgin olive oil stored, equal to 15 million liters: almost half "designer" Land of Bari Dop, another 20% prerogative of Sicilia between the Regional PGI , DOP Val Di Mazara. Just above 5%Tuscan PGI, just below theIGP Puglia andPGI Calabria.
Equal to 30 thousand tons of organic oil in stock, 41% of which were held in Puglia (followed by Toscana e Sicilia, with 15,1 and 12,6% respectively),
Obviously the comparison with last year is unlikely, when as of May 31st stocks were equal to 289 thousand tons (almost 30% more).
