The sweet smile of Maria Paola Consolini stands out to color a dawn full of sadness in this dawn of 2025 in which we would have liked to imagine her always immersed in her world of olive oil, now as disseminator, now as taster, now as trainer.
A terrible illness decided otherwise, tearing her away from her daughter Vittoria, from her dearest affections and from an olive-growing and oil-producing world where she knew everyone and where she was appreciated and loved.

Paola, a citizen of the world with a passion for art, would have turned 60 next April. the province of Trapani in the heart, where he had been at home for years, and where he had also immediately made his skills available: Vice President of Confagricoltura of the Sicilian province and President of the olive section, as well as member of the tasting panel of Sicilian IGP oils.
Panel leader of Assofrantoi, taster with many years of experience, member of the most prestigious competitions in Italy and abroad, Maria Paola Consolini approached the world of oil after a degree in economics and commerce at Sapienza University in Rome and a master's degree in international markets at Bocconi University in Milan which had led her, in addition to undertaking a brilliant career in the insurance world, also to be a point of reference for the OP Confoliva in the management and evaluation of European calls for tenders and funding.

But above all it was her cheerfulness, her sympathy, her inexhaustible loquacity and dialectic that characterised this beautiful personality who left us too soon, leaving a veil of profound melancholy in all those who knew her.
“Extraordinary person – remembers it the president of Assofrantoi, Paolo Mariani - extraordinary and direct who did not accept compromises. In any meeting she preferred to abandon the issue, if she perceived that in some way and in any situation you could find yourself in difficulty. She gave you her all to help you out of the most complex situations. She never spoke about her illness, she always played down the situation and always moved the subject to the projects we were carrying out together. A beautiful testimony of strength, courage and passion”.
