The olive oil campaign extends over an increasingly shorter period of time and in countries such as Portugal where production increases year after year, drought permitting, mill machinery that allows for an increase in operational capacity is necessary. This year the Lusitanian country has reached the 150/160 thousand tons of olive oil and aims to become one of the main producing countries, with high systems density also favored by the large dam opened in the Alentejo region.

In this scenario, achieving an optimal yield with minimum oil residues in the pomace when processing tons of olives with variable characteristics linked to the season also represents a challenge for manufacturers of olive oil machinery.

Pieralisi has passed with honors flow and performance tests continuously measured at one of the most demanding customers in Portugal. During the 2022/23 olive growing season the mill in question worked approximately 80 million kg of olives testing both the new decanter Pieralisi SPI 76.2 that the new 10.000 kg kneaders per tank comparing the quantitative-qualitative performances with the same operational capacity compared to machines from other competitors. The olive cultivars, mainly Arbequina and Arbosana, had an average humidity of 55-60%.

From mechanical point of view this success was enhanced by the exclusive system Rotodiff ®: the second hydraulic motor which allows you to adjust the differential revolutions between the drum and the decanter screw ensuring excellent performance even when working with the most difficult olive paste.

I results were extremely satisfying in terms of extractive yield (measured continuously in the oil residues in the pomace) and high energy efficiency allowing ahigh profitability, a fundamental aspect for the sector especially in these latest campaigns of changes and uncertainties.
