The 7th edition of “The Week of Oil” scheduled from 28 August to 1 September 2023 in Vieste. The Apulian town becomes capital of extra virgin olive oil thanks to the event organized by Municipality together with numerous partners..
Five days for a world of appointments to discover the green gold of Vieste: markets, tasting courses, shows, tastings, workshops, cooking shows, speeches e themed meetings aimed at the inhabitants of Vieste, tourists, the curious and oil enthusiasts. To act as a backdrop to the scheduled events will be centuries-old olive groves, oil mills, panoramic terraces e suggestive squares of the city.
«We have invested heavily in this initiative and we continue to do so because we are convinced that it can be a driving force for the local economy. Extra virgin olive oil is the main food product of our land, with this and other events we aim to reach ever higher quality levels» says the Councilor for Agriculture of the Municipality of Vieste Dario Carlino, which has entrusted the organizational direction of "Oil Week" to Sabrina Pupillo, food technologist and professional oil taster.
«Oil represents the main agri-food production of the Gargano, we believe that this is a great heritage to be valued and we are doing it with a series of events that give everyone the opportunity to get to know extra virgin olive oil in its various facets » declares the Pupil.
All the leading companies in the Gargano will be producers market present everyday, starting from 20.30, in Marina Piccola. Visitors will be able to get to know the world of extra virgin olive oil up close and savor its unmistakable taste.
To guide the participants to discover the green gold of Vieste will be many outstanding guests: master olive growers and oil millers, professional tasters, oil sommeliers, chefs, excellent bakers and food and wine innovators.
