At the end of an effervescent edition of AllFood, the international agri-food fair this year dedicated to sustainability, Unapol – National Union of Olive Producers Associations, through the words of his president Tommaso Loiodice (in the photo), wants to express “deep gratitude to the organizers for a very successful event that saw an important participation of the public. Unapol house – he added – in recent days it has been a point of reference for all those who wish to deepen their knowledge of the variegated world of extra virgin olive oil. With us they had the opportunity to get to know and taste the best selections of PDO and PGI monovarietals".
Many moments of meeting with technicians, producers and all the protagonists of the supply chain. For Loiodice “it is a pride to be able to act as ambassadors of a product that encompasses so many values ​​and the history of entire regions. Oil is a living product that has its own voice and is told through taste, aroma and intensity. And as we have seen in recent days, chefs are the true interpreters of this language, those who are most able to enhance and combine the various oils with each ingredient. Each oil has its own distinct characteristics, possesses qualities that make it more or less suitable for a given raw material. That's why it's important to know how to distinguish and recognize them, we are convinced of this, Evo oil is not just a condiment”.
In Unapol house this year, visitors had the opportunity to deal with the largest Italian offer of monovarietals, PDO and PGI, listening to the words of producers and OPs to better understand the universe contained in every single bottle. “The intent – ​​explains Loiodice – is to offer consumers the possibility of choosing among many different options, different flavors steeped in stories and traditions. Our mission is precisely to tell the story of the territory in which a cultivar is born; we would like the consumer, savoring a certain oil, to be able to perceive the scents and colors of the land in which it was produced. And these days of AllFood, we are sure, many people have returned home with a new awareness”.
