The new one has just been tested and immediately operational Leopard 6 at the oil mill Giuseppe Badini from Castiglion Fiorentino (Ar). Together with separator Mars, forms a splendid couple to renovate in the name of technological evolution an oil mill that has a very long-standing bond with Pieralisi.

And yes, because the history of this mill begins between 1820 and 1830 and it unfolds over the course of two centuries, with the arrival, in 1935, of electricity which allows us to abandon animal traction to use the first oil-producing machines. They are machines from historic Veraci company, later acquired by Pieralisi, a brand with which the Badini oil mill will then maintain a very solid bond.

Thirty hectares of owned olive grove, with the dominant Moraiolo variety, for an olive production that is sold to be bottled as a valuable Tuscan oil. Together with the olives processed on behalf of third parties, the new Leopard will travel on 10 thousand quintals per campaign. Maybe not exactly in this campaign which is starting at full speed, given that production in central Italy has slowed down this year, but we look to the future with optimism.

Even if, as Badini himself denounces, the risk of abandonment of olive groves it is particularly felt throughout the province: “We have terraced olive groves, there is no generation replacement, we lose 6 thousand plants a year. We trust that the Region will intervene to support the sector with strong initiatives, taking into account the value and prestige that Tuscan oil boasts in the world, becoming a particularly attractive brand also from a tourist perspective".

Frantoio Badini does its part, not only further increasing the quality of production through technological innovation, but also promoting the knowledge and valorisation of extra virgin olive oil. Already next Saturday, it will be right here from Giuseppe and his wife Antonietta that the participants will arrive Walk through the Olivi, the initiative promoted byCity of Oil Association and to which the Badini family adheres by having those present taste the freshly pressed oil.
