It has been shown that the postnatal development of children of mothers who consumed olive oil during pregnancy is better in terms of height, weight, behavior and psychomotor reflexes.

Therefore, both the amount and the type of food consumed in the diet during pregnancy play a key role in the metabolic adaptations that occur in the mother and in her functional relationship with the fetus.
