THEAssociation of millers of Puglia has created its own label to guarantee the traceability and quality of extra virgin olive oil. It was presented to SOL of Verona and wants to be one more opportunities for oil millers of the region belonging to the Association who intend to certify, with this mark, not only that the oil contained in the bottle is of exclusive origin from the territory, but also that the olives have been processed with the best technology, the highest hygienic standards and above all with the mastery and professionalism of the oil mill operator. The extra virgin oil resulting from these excellent practices is also bottled, taking care to preserve all its fragrance, aromas and flavours.

“An initiative that enables members to have an extra element of promotion of their product - Explains the president Stefano Caroli (in the cover photo together with Alessandro Fastella)- with full recognition of a collective brand regulated by the Association. The initiative to equip bottles with a brand from the Frantoiani della Puglia Association gives added value both to the olive producer who delivers his olives to the mill, and to the mill operator who presents himself to the consumer with a certified label, and to the consumer himself who has the certainty that in that bottle there is only and exclusively extra virgin olive oil from Puglia produced in an artisanal way, and therefore with the mastery of those who work with attention and passion among the oil machines of an oil mill".

The Association, in fact, has been operating in the area for years in continuous dialogue with its scientific committee, coordinated by Prof. Maria Lisa Clodoveo, made up of university professors who incessantly take care of the transfer of knowledge to members for the continuous improvement of production standards, in collaboration with the panel leader Alfredo Marasciulo which promotes and coordinates the olive oil award Golden Master.

Among the first labels on the market, those of the PGI Olio di Puglia in organic farming. But bottles that offer monocultivars or blends of conventional extra virgin olive oil are ready to be labeled
