“We became protagonists of this meeting – he explained to us Sandro Piccini, president of Olivicoltori Toscani Associati (in the picture)– aware of the importance of these opportunities for the millers of our region. There is great interest in the notice on the modernization of plants, moreover in an area where many oil mills work for the Tuscan PGI and therefore need, in addition to excellent olives, also machinery capable of enhancing the characteristics of our oils. We who produce one million liters of extra virgin olive oil and represent 50% of the Igp are well aware that innovation is a necessary way to maintain high quality. And this prompted us to become promoters of this initiative in view of the imminent publication of the regional tender, for which, personally, I hope that there will be a ceiling of eligible expenditure not exceeding 200/250 thousand euros, therefore calibrated on a large part of our mills and able to allow a greater number of oil mills to have their project financed".
