Olio Capitale returns to Trieste: here are all the numbers of the event

From 10 to 12 March Olio Capitale come back to animate the Trieste Convention Center of Porto Vecchio for a weekend dedicated to the excellence of quality extra virgin olive oil. The fair, organized by Venice Giulia Chamber of Commerce, In collaboration with the 'National Association of Oil Cities, presents really interesting numbers. Here they are.
– Hundreds of labels of superior quality extra virgin olive oils from almost all Italian regions.
- 10 laboratories where it will be possible to taste some dishes accompanied by 3 or 4 extra virgin olive oils of different types and therefore understand how oil can make the difference and identify the best pairing.
- 4 Sessions of guided tasting and introduction to the tasting of the finalist oils of the Capitale Oil Competition in the light, medium and intense fruity category guided by the experts of Ascoe (Association of Tasters and Connoisseurs of Extra Virgin Olive Oil).
– 6 events and presentations of cookbooks and extra virgin olive oil.
– 27 hours of opening of the Oil Bar, the oil bar where you can sit at the counter and be able to choose from the hundreds of labels present at the fair: it will guarantee visitors, from the most to the least expert, to be able to take advantage of guided tastings of all the oils present at the fair, thanks to the explanations of tasters professionals.
- 11 Restaurants in which Olio Capitale also arrives on the tables with a selection of oils from producers of the National Association of Oil Cities that will accompany a dish, to experiment with new combinations and get to know products that come from all over Italy.
– 10 Presentations and talkshows with the protagonists of the valorisation of Evo oil and of the production territories. Issues related to health and well-being generated by the consumption of extra virgin olive oil will also be addressed.
– 10 CocktOil to taste. The best Barmen of the city present their creations at the fair. Ten Cocktails with olive oil, which will be previewed from 4 to 12 March at 10 Cocktail Bars in Trieste.
– 3 “Yoga under the olive trees” lessons at "Il Giardino degli Olivi", a magical place where visitors to the Fair can have unique experiences that bring to mind childhood memories related to the world of EVO oil.
– 20 national companies of oil tourism that have distinguished themselves for the creation of proposals aimed at tourists: tastings, walks and activities among the olive groves, courses for adults and children, but also hospitality in b&b or glamping, phytotherapy courses and oil spa
– 118 companies and 188 oils from 15 Italian regions and 5 European countries took part in the 17th Oil Capital Competition.
– 13 countries of Buyer food origin, i.e. from Austria, Germany, Hungary, Germany, Holland, Estonia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Japan, Holland, Belgium, Austria, Serbia.
– 3 countries of origin of the tourism buyers: Italy, Croatia and Austria.
