The first of September, oil campaign on the horizon for the millers. Someone will activate the machines already in the middle of the month, others will wait for the beginning of October, however everyone is preparing in the best possible way to welcome the tons of olives to be transformed into oil.
With the help of Pieralisi, let's recap the main preliminary operations to have the crusher set up for the start of the activity. With the premise, for those who have yet to complete these checks, that the use and maintenance manual of the systems must always be strictly followed which is made in compliance with the machinery directive. Then adding that extraordinary maintenance activities must be performed by specialized technicians in compliance with the consolidated text on safety.
Of course we are talking about final check, assuming that the machines have been disassembled in some of its components at the end of last season and already reassembled. This last check of the maintenance status of all the mechanical-electrical systems starts from olive elevators, where the condition of the belts, their centering, the oil leakage of the reducers and the electrical insulation of the motor must be checked. Continuing with the debrancher the integrity of the ribbons and bearings and the functioning of the aspirators should be ascertained. For the washing machine, in addition to checking that the ribbons are not damaged, it is necessary to ascertain the hydraulic and pump functionality. On the crusher the checks concern the state of wear of the grids, the hammers, the bearings and the functionality of the main motor, an activity which, if it has not yet been carried out, must be carried out by disassembling the machine and reassembling it after the inspection. For the brakes we just have to verify the functionality of the blades and that the loading and unloading valves work correctly. If they exist, check that the maximum and minimum sensors correctly signal the level of the paste.
Relative to the decanter, check that the restoration, after cleaning and disassembly at the end of the season, does not register anomalous vibrations and that everything is correctly assembled. Record the gearbox oil level using the manufacturer's registered oil and auger wear. With a check of the correct functioning of the connecting pipe pumps between centrifuge and separator, here we are with this last machine where you will have to replace the drum that had been removed at the end of the campaign and having ascertained its correct functionality with no vibration and correct firing.
It all ends with one empty simulation activating all the systems and following all the operating steps of the line to verify that there are no anomalies of any kind. At this point: good campaign!
