We can talk about a real cultural turning point thanks to the companies of Consortium for the Protection of DOP Extra Virgin Olive Oil, who have decided to put together their precious DOP certified extra virgin olive oil to offer the consumer a single product in an elegant guise, with ad hoc designed packaging, and under the evocative brand Goddess Carolea.

At the basis of the project, supported by the Calabria Region, is the ambitious idea of this group of far-sighted producers who today unveils an exclusive PDO certified product to the international market. Packaging a single batch of product together constitutes an undoubted competitive advantage, especially with respect to exports and internationalization.

Quality, traceability and territoriality they are the three pillars on which the Lametia Dop Consortium bases its action. The Consortium brings together producers and companies who, with passion and synergistic work, certify Lametia Dop extra virgin olive oil, essence of an entire territory historically dedicated to oil production.

Expression of a thousand-year-old culture and a predominant identity, the Consortium safeguards, protects and enhances the Carolea cultivar and the members share an important investment in promotion, aimed at communicating its peculiar characteristics and quality, and its consequent commercial diffusion. There Carolea is an expression of identity, in the stories, memories and habits of families, in the recipes and in the artistic inspiration that comes from its twisted trunks and its silvery foliage.

Each pack Goddess Carolea it is traceable and equipped with a progressive number to guarantee maximum transparency. The Lametia DOP is produced exclusively in the nine municipalities of the Lamezia Terme plain, with their expanses of ultra-centenary olive trees protected and promoted by the Slow Food Presidium, which have obtained the community mark: Curinga, Philadelphia (partly), Francavilla Angitola (partly ), Lamezia Terme, Maida, San Pietro a Maida, Gizzeria, Feroleto Antico and Pianopoli.

The certification therefore constitutes a guarantee for the consumer, as it is a higher quality oil connected to the cultural identity of the territory. By enhancing and promoting the latter, the Consortium represents a lever for socioeconomic growth, for the ability to attract tourism and give greater impetus to the local economy.

With an eye towards the future, the companies of the Consortium are moving in the direction of sustainability, not only environmental but also economic and social.

Sustainability translated in terms of the use of renewable resources and circular economy with the valorization of agricultural waste, protection and enhancement of biodiversity, social inclusion.
