It is a good initiative promoted by“Terra di Cicerone” Olive Growers Cultural Association which keeps the history and culture of the area close, in honor of the great Roman orator and philosopher but also of olive growing well rooted in the area in its time. And so, last weekend, ad ArpinoIn the heart of Ciociaria, the association chaired by Antonio Sardellitti awarded the winners of two major competitions that wanted to celebrate Cicero who was born here: the best translations from Latin and the best Italian extra virgin olive oils.

Leaving the task of revealing the best "Latinists" to literature magazines, it's up to us to Olive News like to point out that the prize “Oil Land of Cicero”, now in its ninth edition, saw a jury chaired and led by panel leader Angela Canale, a personality of recognized authority in the olive-oil world and to whom we also refer to provide timely information to the sector. Together with her, a group of qualified tasters who awarded well 21 of the participating oils, who distinguished themselves in the various categories. The occasion made it possible to recall that the olive tree is a plant cultivated in most of Italy which has found its adaptability through about 600 varieties which, together with the climate, largely determine the typicality of the oils. Quality is the absolute value which is instead determined by the producer and the miller: healthy olives and the correct use of extraction machines have made the oil a great Italian excellence which is confirmed in the competitions which, today increasingly numerous, manage to lead producers and consumers on the road to high quality.
