The Consortium for the protection of Garda DOP oil has a new president: it is the lawyer. Simone Padovani (in the picture), who will be joined, as deputy, by the reconfirmed Andrea Bertazzi.
Padovani, 50 years old, member of the family farm, Pollicce di Affi (VR), will lead the Consortium for the next four years. “My mandate – the new president began – will be marked by continuity. I receive with honor the baton left to me by Laura Turri who, until today, has admirably guided the Garda Dop Consortium making it literally "flourish" and counting among the 10 most important Dop in Italy and who, in any case, will continue her commitment in the Consortium in quality of adviser. I hope, together with the newly appointed Council, to consolidate this primacy in honor of the producers who, in fact, with their sacrifices support the Consortium out of love for this precious product, which is Garda Dop Oil, cultivated in a fantastic territory winds through three regions bordering Lake Garda (Lombardy, Trentino and Veneto).
The priorities of this new Board of Directors will be the protection of the Olio Garda DOP brand and the enhancement of the DOP oil production of Lake Garda, but we will work to give even more strength and visibility to the Olio Garda DOP brand, a product already at the top quality Italian olive production but which will still be able to grow a lot in terms of "Brand awareness"».
The new board is composed as follows: Simone Padovani (President), Andrea Bertazzi (Vice President), Alberto Andreasi, Giovanni Avanzi, Claudio Benigno Barzoi, Roberto Denti, Alessandra di Canossa, Valentino Lonardi, Rita Rocca, Ruffato Marco, Laura Turri, Paolo Venturini, Corrado Viola (Councillors).
The Consortium, recognized by Mipaaf in 2004, brings together the olive growers, millers and packers who operate within the Garda DOP production area and supports them in their activity from a technical and promotional point of view.
